An Eye for an Eye [1981]

Mr. Norris plays narcotics officer Sean Kane who we meet right at the beginning along with his partner who are right at the critical moment of a covert operation. The meetup they're supposed to be at goes up in flames and Kane's partner is killed. Kane then quits the force in his grief and then resolves to figure out what went wrong and where all this heroin is coming from.

It's a little more exciting than that. But just a bit.

since the 80's were all about "Sex, Chuck, and Rock & Roll" I'll go over some of the best parts under those headings: Sex is for sexy(ish) things, Chuck is for the things we want to see from Chuck Norris in a Chuck Norris movie, and Rock & Roll is for the other parts that make an action movie especially fun.

Sex:
The cute Asian "80's That Guy" actress who plays Keiko O'Brian on Star Trek is in it.

Chuck:
Kane is fighting a guy in a small apartment. The guy pulls a knife, Chuck Norris wins the knife-fight by kicking the man out of the fourth-story window.
Later in the movie, at Kane's ocean-side estate, the scene opens with Chuck Norris working out on a total-gym on the front porch.

Rock & Roll:
One of the big bad guys is a very large Asian man who has one leg shorter than the other, which they make a big deal about. He does a lot of stupidly amusing stuff like punching his way through a door and picking up a Volkswagen only to slam it back down on the street.

Throughout the movie, it was hard to get over Chuck's really dumb, always pristinely straight and dry, haircut. It looked a lot like Luke Skywalker beating up a huge mob of Triad gangsters.

It was fun, but slow and weirdly paced. If you're not trying to watch Mr. Norris's entire filmography, you can probably go ahead and skip this one.

When you're in Nelsonville, come to my place...

...'cause that's where The Ranger's gonna be.

A year or more ago my friend and I got very into catching up on movies. The pop-culture and creative people in America come from the last 40-50 years of TV and movies, better than half of which we weren't alive for. So we began to collect. Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Willis, even Charlton Heston made it in to our queue.

I saw The Expendables 2 with him a few weeks ago and it was just so joyful an experience to see all these awesome guys in one movie. After a while though I began to critically evaluate that joy and realized that I had seen less than ten movies starring anyone that I was excited to see in The Expendables.

So going back to the list of movies we compiled I found a forgotten compilation I had made of 22 Chuck Norris movies I like to call; "The Chuck Norris Collection." The purpose of this blog is to record my opinions of these movies and give a sort of pre-screening/reccomendation for my friend who is a little hesitent to dive into this particular folder himself.

Here they are in the order I'm g:oing to watch them (alphabetically):
